Colour Me Happy - The Simple Art Of Colour Blocking!!

The myth that blue and green should never be seen is being blown right out of the water this Spring with the newest trend of colour blocking making a BIG statement everywhere you look!

Colour Blocking is where it’s AT this Spring. It’s bright, it’s fun, it’s classic, it’s bold…..it’s whatever you make it! Colour is meant to be enjoyed - so choose your favourites and get going! The first rule of colour blocking is that THERE ARE NO RULES…..it’s basically impossible to get it wrong (yay!!).

So what is colour blocking ACTUALLY??…..It’s basically the idea of pairing contrasting colours together. This can be clothing, shoes, accessories, interiors, textiles…..you name it.

Where to start?…..you can literally grab every coloured item of clothing you have and put them all on together and there you have it - it REALLY is that simple. If you like the idea of colour blocking but would prefer to ease your way in (or just flirt a little with the concept) an easy and beautiful way is to pick out a dress in a bold colour (or 2 colours blocked together) and simply team it with a pair of nude heels - the result is 2 contrasting colours in it’s most simple form. Feeling a bit more daring???? Start by trying colours close together like red and orange together then move on to pink and yellow or pink or colours like green and purple, and on and on it goes!

Check out the pics I’ve posted to get some inspiration and ideas for how to make colour blocking work for you and most of all ENJOY experimenting with it!
